Can I use the diapers in the diaper cake?

Absolutely!  No diapers are harmed in the making of a Kel's BabyCake.

It seems every diaper cake on the market claims to be "The Original" although you have been making diaper cakes for longer than the some of the others.  Why don't you make that claim?

Because it doesn't matter! Who made the first diaper cake is irrelevant, it's more important to us to be the best.

What's the difference between Diaper Cakes and Baby Cakes?

Diaper cakes are usually made of diapers only and decorated with silk flowers, similar to a wedding cake.  Baby cakes are made with useable baby necessities, as well as diapers, and tend to be decorated with layette items.  Although diaper cakes and baby cakes are both wonderful gifts for a new baby, the two items are very different.

How can you put so much useable stuff into the diaper cakes and keep the cost reasonable?

I have some of the best suppliers you could ever hope to find.  By keeping my material costs low, I am able to provide my customers with more useable baby items in each diaper cake instead of less practical ornamental ones simply to up the item count.

Are the items in a Kel's BabyCake recognizable name brands?

Yes.  The clothing items are Gerber, as are the feeding spoons, burp cloths and Nuk pacifiers.  All of the bath products are Johnson & Johnson.  I also use Luvs diapers, as they are
incredible against leaks, Evenflo bottles, Hanes socks and Huggies baby wipes.  All products have been selected based on years of personal experience and feedback from customers and other mommies.

How are the diapers put together on the BabyCakes?  Do you use rubber bands?

No, I do not use rubber bands, nor do I advise it.  Our diaper cakes are "child friendly" in case the baby (or an older sibling) gets their little hands into it.  Each diaper inside the diaper cake is rolled by hand and tied with a piece of string.  You can cut the string to release the diaper, but a quick pull will also do the trick.  I chose a long time ago not the interlock the diapers because it made it impossible to 1) "hide" the items inside the diaper cake and 2) use only one diaper without having the entire diaper cake "spring" apart.                                         <Back
