How are the layers put together? Do you use tape?

This is the question that we ge the most!! The layers are very securely held together. Beyond that, we do not disclose exactly what we do to keep the layers together other than to say that WE DO NOT USE TAPE TO SECURE THEM. We do use a small piece of double-sided tape to help the Beanie Baby on top hold the bottle on our 2 and 3 tier Kel's BabyCake diaper cakes because we just can't seem to convince the little critters to hang on to it on their own!

Are all of those baby items really in there?

Quite frankly, this question just kills me! Yes, it is all in there! Buying items over the Internet, especially gifts that are shipped directly to the recipient as opposed to being shipped to the purchaser, can be dodgy. Having shopped online for YEARS prior to opening my own store, I knew how important it was to be able to see EXACTLY what you are paying for. That's why we provide so many pictures of our diaper cakes in their "before and after" states. About 90% of our business is corporate/client gifts (and yes, it is true that we have delivered Kel's BabyCakes diaper cakes to a few NFL players) and our feedback continues to be excellent.

Do you ever do special order Kel's BabyCakes?

Yes, and we do them quite often! Our most challenging special order came in from a very dear friend who wanted "Burt's Bees" bath items instead of the Johnson & Johnson products we typically use. I told her to get the little "Burt's Bees" baby kit, which typically contains 8-10 trial size bath items. She misunderstood me and brought me 8 FULL SIZED baby bath items, as well as a beautiful crocheted blanket she had made for her friend, to put into the diaper cake. I almost had a heart attack! With quite a bit of trial and error, we got the first ever 5 Tier Kel's BabyCake finished in plenty of time and it was a HUGE success! Do you have any "themed" Kel's BabyCakes?

YES! Based on the feedback we have received from our customers, friends and folks we met at the Baby Faire, we are currently working on 4 new themed Kel's BabyCakes. We expect to launch these new products before December 31st, but absolutely before Atlanta's Baby and Kid Expo in February 2006.                       <Back          Next>
